About Us

Mark Johnson was a talented watercolor artist who lived in the town of Branford. He had a special love for capturing the beauty of his surroundings on paper, often focusing on the local nature. Mark enjoyed painting portraits but his true passion was creating stunning scenes of the outdoors with colorful sunsets and lush green foliage. He painted a range of areas throughout the town, from Stony Creek, to Pine Orchard, over to the other side towards the green, and Supply Ponds! Through his art, Mark not only expressed his creativity, but also celebrated the place he called home. Mark’s passing in 2011 was a great loss to not just the town of Branford but all who knew and loved him. This year, his son Maxwell Johnson, honors him by presenting a piece that was painted by him over 30 years ago. Branford Green in 1917 by Mark Johnson
